Becky, RVT Registered Veterinary Technologist

Growing up on a cattle farm in northern rural BC, I have always had a love for looking after animals. I was lucky enough in my childhood to look after many different critters. We had of course cats, dogs and cattle. But also rabbits, pigs, chickens, turkeys and horses. From age 6 to 19, I was evolved in 4h. I was in the beef club for most of that time, but I also got be in the dog, rabbit, and swine clubs. I was also a junior leader for the rabbit club.

After taking a gap year to work on a dairy farm in the UK, I started at Thompson Rivers University. I graduated from the animal health technology program in 2017. I started working at Kamloops Veterinary Clinic right out of school in May 2017. I enjoy pretty much all aspects of the job, but I particularly love difficult, but satisfying blood draws; helping in surgery; anesthesia; taking x-rays; and of course, puppies and kittens. My favourite part of the job is getting the in-clinic sick patients to eat food, it is so rewarding, and it means they get to go home soon.

I have two Jack Russell Terriers. Zeena the sweetest, most sensitive little girl, she came to the clinic in the fall of 2020. And Wallace my rambunctious jump jack, came into our lives spring of 2023. I enjoy hiking the Kamloops trails with my dogs, going to the gym and working in my garden.
