Sherry, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technologist

I chose veterinary medicine by accident. My aunt worked for a vet for 20 years and she helped me start my career in a clinic in 2009 as a receptionist. I instantly fell in love with the job and decided this was the career for me.

I graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Thompson Rivers University in 2018. I have been working for Kamloops Veterinary Clinic since 2017 and they have become like family. We are a tight-knit group of amazing individuals that love their patients and give 110% every single day.

What I love the most about veterinary medicine is surgery and anesthesia. It amazes me how far medicine has come to keep our patients comfortable after a long procedure and be able to ease discomfort from injury or illness.

Fun fact: My real passion is art. I love making things beautiful in different ways. I sketch but also like to make crafts. I enjoy making creative casts and splints for our patients and I also enjoy making memories for people with the help of Peartree impressions.
