Sandra

Client Care Representative

Sandra chose the veterinary field due to her love of animals and wanting to help them. Sandra graduated in 2002 as a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) at the College of the Cariboo (now, Thomas Rivers University).

After working for 11 years as an RVT on the coast, Sandra became very passionate about animal behaviour. She has spent many years, not only becoming certified as a professional dog trainer using positive reinforcement, but also taking many other courses in behaviour. She graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy and is a certified training partner through them as a professional dog trainer (KPA-CTP) (2018). She has completed the following courses; Puppy Start Right for Instructors (KPA); Shelter Training and Enrichment (KPA); Low Stress Handling -Certified Silver (Sophia Yin); Fear Free Professional (Dog Trainer), and has completed the Masters Course - Aggression in dogs (International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants) (IAABC). At this time, she is working on the following courses; Separation Anxiety for Dogs (IAABC); Scent Work for Dogs (The School of Canine Science); and Better Vet Visits (KPA).

Besides working on behaviour courses, Sandra has gone to many conferences on the coast and in Las Vegas learning about animal behaviour. What Sandra loves most about her job is talking with clients about their furry kids and getting some puppy cuddles.

Fun fact about Sandra is that she lived in Seville, Spain for four months and studied Flamenco Dance!
