Dr. Tara MacKay, DVM

Veterinarian
From a very young age, Dr. Tara MacKay had a passion for animals and helping others, and for anyone who knows her, she has always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Born and raised in Kamloops, Dr. MacKay received a degree in Animal Biology from Thompson Rivers University in 2011 before moving to Saskatoon to pursue her veterinary degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. MacKay graduated in 2015 and then worked for over a year at a small animal practice in Penticton, BC. It was here that she got to better develop her interests in preventative and wellness medicine. Her interests also include ophthalmology, dentistry, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging including ultrasound. She loves getting to work with such a collaborative and supportive team at Kamloops Veterinary Clinic. Dr. MacKay, her partner Charlie and their two daughters have two rescue kitties, Alfred and Miley. When not at work, Dr. MacKay can be found working on different art projects, exploring the local restaurants and shops, and getting outside in the beautiful outdoors that Kamloops has to offer.
