Dr. Sharon Butzke

Veterinarian

I grew up in Guelph, Ontario and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009. My parents would tell you I decided in grade 3 that I was going to become a veterinarian! I am passionate about education and I love working with clients to come up with the best healthcare plan for their individual pet(s). I developed a particular interest in dermatology after adopting a wonderful Saint Bernard named Buck and learning how to manage his severe allergies.

I enjoy all the patients I work with, but I have always had a special place in my heart for Great Danes. My husband and I brought home our fourth Great Dane, Parker, in November 2020 – just before we moved to Kamloops with our daughter. The wonderful team and clients at Kamloops Vet have made me feel so welcome, and I am still in awe of all the beautiful landscapes around Kamloops!

A fun fact about me is that I have been clogging since I was ten years old. I enjoy choreographing and teaching, and I was fortunate to have an opportunity to share one of my own dances at the first ever Canadian National Clogging Convention in October 2019.
