Dr. Irena Peytchev, DVM

Veterinarian
Growing up near Toronto, Dr. Irena Peytchev always had an interest in one day moving to Western Canada. As an avid lover of animals and the outdoors, moving to Kamloops was the perfect fit. Dr. Peytchev received her degree in Biology from Queen’s University in 2013 and completed a Master of Science in Microbiology immediately after. She then took on a position as a Microbiologist at a pharmaceutical company before realizing that her true passion was actually Veterinary medicine all along! She quickly got her application together and applied for Veterinary school and has never looked back. She received her veterinary degree from the Ontario Veterinary College and is very happy working with the wonderful team at Kamloops Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Peytchev enjoys working with cats and is certified as a Cat-Friendly Veterinarian. She also has an interest in community outreach, surgery, dentistry and internal medicine. She lives with two Persian cats at home named Archie and Oliver along with her Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix named Willow. When she is not at work, you can find Dr. Peytchev hiking, camping, being a foodie and spending time at home with her husband and their animals.
